A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday, sentenced two students to Correctional Centre for love scam.
The two Convicts are; Adeyemi Kehinde, final-year student of Ekiti State University, (EKSU) Ado Ekiti, and Oladosu Olalekan of Kwara State University, (KWASU),Molete.
The presiding Judge, Justice Sikiru Oyinloye gave the order, having found them guilty of offences bordering on cybercrime and romance scam.
An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Tuesday sentenced a student of Lagos State University (LASU), Afeez Ogunbowale, to 21 years’ imprisonment for involvement in armed robbery and rape of two fellow LASU students.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo sentenced Ogunbowale after finding him guilty of five counts bordering on conspiracy, rape and armed robbery.
The Police on Friday rearraigned five persons before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged unlawful possession and receipt of human parts for consumption.
The Kwara police are on the trail of gunmen who abducted a trader, Lukman Ibrahim and also killed his wife along Ojoku road, Offa.
The Police Public Relations Office, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi confirmed the development to the press.
He said the “story is true, the command has started a technological-driven investigation and rescue operation into the incident, as directed by the state police commissioner, Mohammed Lawal Bagega.”
According to him, the gunmen killed Hawawu and kidnapped her husband, Lukman in a bloody attack on Saturday along Federal Polytechnic, Offa, permanent site.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Kwara State Command, on Tuesday, says it has arrested a 26 years old farmer, Ibrahim Enboma for attacking a teenage Fulani herder, Nasiru Sule, with cutlass and causing him grievous bodily harm.
According to the spokesman of the civil defence in Kwara State Babawale Zaid, the incident occurred at the suspect's farm at Gwanara, Baruten Local Government of Kwara State.
