A High Court in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday sentenced a 65-year-old man, Imole Akintewe to 5 years imprisonment for defiling his two daughters.
Delivering judgment, Justice John Adeyeye, held that having sexual intercourse with one’s daughter is something the society abhors and condemns.
“However, considering the age of the defendant and the fact that he has shown remorse, I will be lenient with him.
A 38-year-old man, Wale Ademiluyi, on Tuesday appeared before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun for allegedly obtaining N1.55 million under false pretence.
Ademiluyi of no fixed address, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and fraud.
The Prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 15, 2019 about 2:00pm at Ita-Osa, Ondo Road, Ile-Ife.

A Court in Makurdi on Tuesday ordered that a carpenter, Alour Hanze, who allegedly robbed a Magistrate, be remanded in a correctional centre, pending legal advice.
The police charged Hanze, who resides in Akaajime area, Gboko Local Government Area, (LGA) Benue with criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
Magistrate, Ajuma Igama, did not take the plea of Hanze for want of jurisdiction. She adjourned the case until Aug 26, for further mention.
