The Kwara State Government has announced that all public sector employees without a valid Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) number will be ineligible to receive their November 2024 salaries and bonuses.
The directive, issued months ago, emphasises the administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and efficiency in resource management.
The KWSRRA, established by law, is responsible for maintaining an accurate database of all residents in Kwara State, assigning unique identification numbers to each individual. This system is intended to enhance planning, service delivery, resource allocation, and public safety across the state.
In a statement released by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, through Press Secretary, Babatunde Toyin Abdulrasheed, government underscored the importance of this initiative.
“In line with the administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency, all state employees, including those within the 16 local government areas, were directed to complete their KWSRRA registration,” the statement read.
Effective from November, workers who have not registered will forfeit both their monthly salaries and bonuses.
Dr. Nuru highlighted that the KWSRRA registration supports the state’s goal of developing a reliable, comprehensive database that will strengthen the payroll system, improve service delivery, and build trust among state employees and residents.
“The integrity of our data is essential to all our financial and administrative functions. A complete database enables informed decision-making, efficient resource allocation, and fair compensation for eligible workers,” Dr. Nuru explained.
The Finance Ministry urged all unregistered state employees to visit the nearest KWSRRA registration center promptly to complete their enrollment. This step, officials noted, is crucial to Kwara State’s vision of a streamlined, equitable system that benefits both the workforce and residents.
