Prof. Ijaiya, who was visibly excited, told  Unilorin Bulletin that the development “shows that the quality of instructions at the Faculty has consistently manifested in the performance of our products at higher levels and this has been the case for a long time”, adding that “our students have always consistently excelled in both their academic pursuits and behavioral standing”.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, said that he was delighted that ten of the products of the University earned First Class grade in the 2022 Bar Part 2 Examinations of the Nigerian Law School.

The Vice Chancellor, who spoke through the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, explained that the breakdown of the results has incontrovertibly affirmed the high quality service delivery available not just at the institution’s Faculty of Law but also in all its Faculties and units.

Prof. Egbewole, who himself is also a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, said that the management of the institution was particularly happy that its Law Faculty has continued to remain a shining model not just at the University of Ilorin but also among its peers nationwide.

The renowned Professor of Jurisprudence and International Law recalled that apart from producing three Senior Advocates of Nigeria and two Vice Chancellors among its current staff, the Faculty also produced Mr Muyiwa Atoyebi, who at the age of 34 in 2020 emerged as the nation’s youngest ever Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Prof. Egbewole, who urged other Faculties and Departments to continue to excel in service delivery, assured the University’s stakeholders that his administration was determined to ensure that staff and students of the University are afforded the needed resources that would bring out the best in them for personal greatness and that of the institution.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor has also sent a congratulatory message to the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, Prof. Muhammed Taofeeq AbdulRazaq, on his conferment with the exalted rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the University’s spokesman, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said the University of Ilorin regarded the honour on Prof. AbdulRazaq as long overdue, considering his distinguished contributions to the development of the nation’s jurisprudence as a lawyer, teacher and tax consultant of global repute.

Prof. Egbewole noted that it was the strong foundation laid by Prof. AbdulRazaq when he served as the Dean of the Faculty that others have been building on and which aided the continuous progress being recorded by the Faculty.

The Vice Chancellor wished Prof. AbdulRazaq, who currently teaches at the Lagos State University, Ojo, a more rewarding career.
