Yoruba Nation lead agitator, Sunday Adeyemo ‘Igboho’, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate by Triune Biblical University, USA.
Igboho broke the news of the award on Tuesday.
The activist was presented with the award of doctor of peace and security management/international relations with specialisation in war/conflict and peace studies.
In an Instagram post, the 50-year-old said he was honoured to know that his efforts at achieving freedom for the Yoruba people were recognised.
“Congratulations to me as I was conferred a Doctor of peace and security management/international relations with specialization in war/conflict and peace studies from TRIUNE BIBLICAL UNIVERSITY USA.
“It’s such an honour to know that Yoruba Nation’s efforts are not in vain,” he wrote.
In the pictures he shared on his social media pages, Igboho, who is still unable to leave Benin Republic, was flanked by several persons including a historian and one of the leaders of the Yoruba Nation self-determination struggle, Professor Banji Akintoye.
