The immediate past president of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria and former Vice Chancellor, Fountain University, Professor Bashiru Ademola Raji has been named the Pro-Chancellor and Acting Chairman of the Governing Council of the Crown Hill University, Ilorin.
Prof Raji, a soil scientist of repute is of the Agronomy Department, University of Ilorin.
Conveying the appointment on behalf of the Proprietor and the Board of Trustees, the Secretary, Deacon Abiodun Bada said the appointment was approved at the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BOT) held on 13" September, 2022, taking into recognition his selfless and enviable contribution to education and human development in Nigeria.
The letter reads in part: "Given your track record of integrity and excellence in whatever sphere you have found yourself, most especially your performance as member of the Governing Council of the Crown- Hill University.
"It is our sincere belier that your appointment as the Acting Chairman of the Governing Council of Crown-Hill University will bring unparalleled positive development that will place the young but promising institution among the best private universities in Nigeria"
The Board expressed the hope that he would accept to serve and take the university to a new height.
Responding, the new Pro-Chancellor pledged to reposition the University to take its rightful place among comity of universities and assured that he would work with all stakeholders to ensure that the institution attain academic excellence and impactful research on our immediate community.
