Two persons allegedly suspected by the Police to be cultists, were slaughtered on Eidel-fitr day in Ilorin, Kwara state capital by an unidentified gang that trailed them from Lagos.

The spokesman of the state police command, Okasanmi Ajayi, who confirmed the development in Ilorin on Monday, said the victims were trailed from Lagos.

He said investigation has begun on the incident.

The incident occurred at Akata Orisunbare Aga area of Ganmo, about 3 kilometres to Ilorin, the state capital.

According to the source, one of the victims identified as Thompson, who came from Lagos was slaughtered alongside his host Abdulwaheed, a bricklayer.

The attackers reportedly came to the house in two Keke Napep vans at about 5am, while people were returning home from the Ramadan Laillatil Quadir

The source Informed that Abdulwaheed, in the attempt to bring out his gun for self defense, was shot and macheted to death by the attackers while his head was allegedly severed.

The corpses of the two victims were evacuated at the scene where six expended bullets were recovered by the police at about 9am.

As a result of the incident, one of the suspected hot spots in the area identified as Blue Bob, was raided by security operatives.

The facility according to sources is a suspected abode of cultists in the area.
