Kwara Agenda for Asiwaju (KWAGA), a political support group has drummed support for the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while also calling on the state governor to find peace with the discontented group within the All Progressives Congress Party in the state, as it prepares for 2023 elections.

The group gave the admonitions when it paid a solidarity visit to the APC's candidate for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general election, Mallam Muktar Shagaya.

The group's state coordinator, Hon Yinka Yusuf Erubu praised the philanthropic efforts of Hajia Muinat Bola Shagaya and her eldest son, Sheriff Shagaya, the founder of the Salman Shagaya foundation, advising the sons not to depart from the family's legacy.

He pleaded to the state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to reach out to the aggrieved stakeholders in order to strengthen the party before the 2023 general election. “Our job and other groups’ efforts would be easier if the party mend fences for the task ahead”, he said.

Erubu said KWAGA has set in motion, a 2-day campaign mobilisation and publicity in realising the ambition of the APC’s candidate. The group sought logistic support for the event.

The group's coordinator for Ilorin West LGA, Mallam Buhari offered prayers for the success of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Mallam Muktar Shagaya, among other APC candidates in Kwara state.

In her contribution, the group's women leader for Ilorin west LGA, Hajia Adelodun advised that the party should work more on polling booths, alluding to the fact voters’ population has increased tremendously in the local government area.

The Director General of Muktar Shagaya Movement, Alhaji Mufutau Akanbi Oke thanked the group for their visit. He observed that the group was peopled by local staunch supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed with a unique name, which said “is indigenous to Kwara state”

Mallam Muktar Shagaya in his response appreciated the group and promised to continue to project the good legacy of the Shagaya family. He particularly expressed his priority for youths' empowerment, employment and capacity building when elected.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the group's cap by the group's deputy state coordinator, Elder Olusegun Ezekiel to Mallam Muktar Shagaya as he prayed for God's guidance and protection throughout the electioneering period.
