Various groups in Kwara State are applauding Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his appointment of new Special Advisers (SAs) describing the appointment as well deserved.

The Governor had in a statement by Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, his Chief Press Secretary on Friday in Ilorin announced 7 new SAs including Mr Bashir Adigun, a senior reporter with Channel TV, who was appointed SA political communications. Others included retired Brig-Gen. Saliu Bello SA security; Prof. Adekunle Dunmade SA health; Mr Ahmed Aluko SA special duties and Mr Attahiru Ibrahim SA youths and sports.

While reacting to the new appointments, the League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ), Kwara State chapter,  praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for appointing Alh Saadu Salahu, a retired journalist and public relations expert and Bashir Adigun,  two personalities it described as media guru.

The league in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Alh Abdullahi Olesin quoted its chairman, Alh Tunde Akanbi as hailing the decision of Governor AbdulRazaq for appointing journalists into strategic positions in his administration.

While congratulating the appointees over their  appointments, the league expressed confidence in their ability to perform creditably well in their new offices.

The league particular expressed delight over Salahu's retention in the state cabinet, describing him as an active and supportive member of NALVEJ.

It assured the governor of the continued support of members of the league in the state.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, on its part expressed confidence in the abilities of the two new appointees to deliver on their new assignments, describing them as the round pegs in round holes. 

The Union also commended the governor for appointing journalists into key offices in his administration.

Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria ( YSFON) Kwara state chapter in a statement by its chairman, Prince Ademola Kiyesola described Mallam Ibrahim Attahiru's  reappointment a as a testimony of his track record during his first appointment and his charismatic leadership qualities. 

He charged him to see his reappointment as a challenge to offer more services in the quest to take sports to the next level in the state,  while assuring him of YSFON's support in the task of sports development in the state particularly from the grassroot level.
