Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says he will continue to honour teachers by ensuring improvement in their welfare and work environment. 

He stated this at a program marking the 2020 World Teachers Day organised by the National Union of Teachers, NUT Kwara State Wing in Ilorin.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi urged the teachers to reflect and adapt to the challenges brought to the global economy by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the need to key into virtual teaching techniques.

Abdulrazaq said that his administration is spending a lot to reposition schools across the State and stressed that the welfare and training of teachers would receive similar attention to improve their national ranking.

In his address, the NUT Chairman, Kwara State Wing, Comrade Olu Adewara appreciated the notable achievements of the government since assumption of office especially in the education sector which he said even "the blind can see" across the state.
