The management of Kwara United FC of Ilorin has pledged to raise standards on all fronts, all in a bid to make investors in particular identify with the club.
The club’s Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, made the pledge while receiving the new executive committee members of the team’s Supporters Club on Friday in Ilorin.
“The supporters group will be carried along in all the processes toward achieving the desired results.
“But I will urge the supporters club to be sincere in all their dealings, and to support the aspirations of the management.”
He warned that the club would clamp down on the troublemakers among the supporters during their home matches in the upcoming season.
“We however seek your support in doing so,” the club chairman said.
Titiloye also charged the supporters club to work closely with the club’s Marketing Department on the issue of gate receipts during home matches.
He said discipline would be the club’s watchword, as their players and officials would be given the enabling atmosphere to do the club and state proud.
”But the club will not hesitate to sanction anyone found wanting.”
Titiloye added that the club’s target in the upcoming season was to pick up a ticket to play on the continent next season and also win the Aiteo Cup.
”The target can only be easily achieved with the support of the supporters club,” he said.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Supporters Club, Waheed Saliu, commended the Kwara government for sustaining the club and the management also for signing quality players ahead of the new season.
He raised concern on the issues of crowd control during matches and gate-takings, as he also tasked the team to pursue its objectives with all the seriousness it deserved.
The supporters club chief also urged the team to improve its record and excel in the Aiteo Cup competition in the new season.
“It is a fact that the club has not gone beyond the quarter-finals in all its participation in this competition. We want you to improve your performance here and excel,” he said.
Saliu, who is popularly called “Obe”, while pledging to support and work closely with the club in achieving its objectives, thanked the management for assisting the supporters club in repairing its bus.
