The Kwara Government has concluded plans to distribute sports equipment to selected secondary schools across the state.

Mrs Joana Kolo, the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, made this known in a statement issued in Ilorin on Monday by Dr Sangodare Ayinla, the Press Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.

The commissioner said the gesture was in congruence with Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s resolve to revolutionise the state’s sports sector, especially through grassroots development.

The commissioner said that the beneficiaries were drawn from all the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

She added that this was another phase in terms of sporting equipment distribution since the inception of the present administration. Kolo noted that the beneficiaries had earlier been notified.

She called on the concerned schools to come to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development on Tuesday for their packages.

The commissioner commended the state governor for his determination to enliven the history of sports in the state.
