Miss Temitope Odesola, a 200 level Economics student of the University of Ilorin, has emerged winner of the grand prize of $500 and a branded saloon car in the maiden edition of the Miss Africulture International Beauty Contest 2020.

The organiser of the event and Chief Executive Officer of Bee Media Solution, Mr. Abiola Olaniran, who is also an alumnus of the University, expressed happiness for successfully staging the first of its kind beauty contest. He added that the concept of the event is to bring the different cultures in Africa together resulting in cultural integration and also engaging youths in the country positively to put an end to the negative vices which have witnessed an upsurge in recent times in the country.

The event which started in March 2020 with over 50 contestants had activities ranging from interactive webinars, sightseeing, brain teasers, charity walk and more. The 1000-seating capacity M&M Event Centre venue of the grand finale was parked full with excited audience,  who savoured the various activities that took place at the event.

Olaniran promised that his organization would be working on bringing bigger International sponsors, Embassies across Africa, as well as notable brands that can give opportunities to contestants and winners of Miss Africulture in subsequent editions.

Among the dignitaries that graced the grand finale were lecturers of the university, the Winner of BBNaija Season 5, Laycon, Senator Lola Ashiru, the Senator representing Kwara South; Oloriewe Abdulraheem Adedoyin, a former Commissioner for Information in Kwara State; Hon Harriet Oshatimehin, the Kwara State Commissioner for Communication Hajia Saadatu Modibbo Kawu, the Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education; Mrs. Kehinde Okoroafor, Hafeez Oyetoro, Queen Nimat Siaka, Mrs. Funmi Osiegbu, Africa's First Lecturer Hip Hop Artist and; Theorist among other top celebrities.
